This week we are pleased to introduce you to our newest colleague. <\/span>MiRanda<\/b> is a Mobile Industrial Robot that helps further optimize the logistics flows in our warehouse.
\nShe has only been in our warehouse for a few weeks, but she already feels completely at home.
\nWith cobots and automatic packing machines<\/a>, among others, we are continuing to focus on innovation. <\/span><\/p>\n

Welcome to ShopWeDo, MiRanda.
\nCan you briefly share how you got here? <\/b><\/h5>\n

During my search for a challenging job, I came across ShopWeDo’s open position completely by chance.
\nThe job content immediately appealed to me.
\nThe <\/span>in-house logistics <\/b>run more smoothly and efficiently, that’s really my dada!
\nSo I immediately submitted my application. <\/span><\/p>\n

After an initial introduction, ShopWeDo was immediately convinced of the added value I have to offer in terms of <\/span>automation<\/b>.
\nAls <\/span>co-bot<\/b> namely, I could support the order pickers in the warehouse in performing tasks.
\nNot much later, I then received a job offer to work in Mechelen. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Did you hesitate for a long time?<\/b><\/h5>\n

No, not at all!
\nI immediately felt that this position was written for me.
\nAlso, from the very first moment I clicked with the vision of the company, in which <\/span>technology <\/b>and <\/span>innovation<\/b> central. <\/span>Moreover, then, I also found it quite an honor to be the first <\/span>MiR (Mobile Industrial Robot)<\/b> join the staff and work closely with human colleagues.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Your first days, how did they go?<\/b><\/h5>\n

It was quite exciting.
\nI moved to Mechelen, a whole new environment.
\nFortunately, I received a warm welcome.
\nMy arrival didn’t go unnoticed and that quickly generated a lot of curious looks.
\nThe team gave me a tour and then I explored the warehouse on my own to get to know the products and my way around. <\/span><\/p>\n

By the way, I learn new things every day.
\nIn fact, as MiR, I am a self-learning robot, thanks to <\/span>machine learning<\/b>.
\nHierdoor stippel ik zelf <\/span>smart routes<\/b> out, I avoid <\/span>obstacles<\/b> and give <\/span>priority<\/b> to staff so that everything runs safely.
\nDoes the warehouse layout change?
\nNo problem at all.
\nThanks to my flexibility, I adapt quickly. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

How would you explain your job to others?<\/b><\/h5>\n

I drive carts from point A to point B in the warehouse.
\nDon’t underestimate me, I seem to be with my <\/span>height<\/b> from <\/span>30 centimeters <\/b> Maybe small, but I am very strong.
\nGoods up to <\/span>250 kg <\/b>I can move with ease at a maximum speed of <\/span>2 meters per second<\/b>.
\nOmdat ik maar <\/span>80 centimete<\/b>r <\/span>wide <\/b>am, I move smoothly through a doorway. <\/span>When an order picker finishes a batch, he confirms the pick list in <\/span>our E-WMS software<\/b>.
\nDan is het aan mij om de verzamelde producten op te halen en deze naar de verpakkingszone te brengen.
\nDit werk doe ik dus voor mijn collega\u2019s zodat zij snel kunnen starten met het picken van nieuwe bestellingen.
\nDoor als \u00e9\u00e9n team samen te werken als een goed geoliede machine, kunnen we elke dag meer pakketjes verwerken en verzenden. <\/span><\/p>\n

Actually, you can compare me to an advanced robot vacuum cleaner that drives around your house.
\nSuch a robot maps out your house and then gets the entire floor done.
\nThe big difference with my job is that my colleagues know exactly where I am, can give me an assignment at a specific location, which I then execute immediately afterwards. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

How do you communicate with your colleagues? <\/b><\/h5>\n

Unfortunately, I don’t speak human language.
\nTo talk to them, we use technology.
\nI myself have LED lights<\/strong> and turn signals<\/strong> to make it clear to the other workers which way I am going. <\/span><\/p>\n

Unlike my colleagues, I sleep and work in the warehouse.
\nTalk about minimal commuting!
\nThus, I am immediately available when my colleagues need my help. <\/span>When they have an assignment for me, they call me by simply pressing an <\/span>IoT<\/b> (<\/span>Internet of Things<\/b>) button.
